For our 3rd week in lesson, our class learnt about Idea Generation, we had to write up different topics discussed when creating and sharing an idea. This depends on how you interpret games design, we also discussed what kind of games designer we will become. On our tables in teams, our group got given paper and pens to write up our own Poster/Manifesto on how to/what to focus on when being a games designer. Down below will be pics on what I chose and my early progression in Twine.
Even though Twine has been easy and hard to use, overall the software has been very helpful when creating a stretched out interactive game story. The top right picture is an example of someone else's work and this shows how extensive our work can become. With many branching paths, the story we create will include lots of surprises and plot twists, many players may not expect.
The bottom left picture depicts our plan; 6 main characters who will all meet and journey off into the war not knowing what will happen next. Harry, Peter, Thomas, Henry, Edward and Jack are our main cast and the story starts with those two meeting in the registration office only to be shipped onto the battlefield and told to pick a group to follow. One team will stay in the trenches, while the others are getting ready and set to fight alongside no man's land.
Our dice rolls chose the themes; Spy Thriller and Psychic Teenagers, me and Elijah thought the best take on this story would be in a war-type situation. The title: "Shadow of a Soldier" depicts how the main character will not know what the future has decided from him but with his Psychic abilities he hopes to overcome any challenges he come across without fear, without any help.
This picture to the right shows my development progress of our story, there are more paths to follow and more characters to choose from. There have been some issues over sharing the work but moving the file over USB to computer has worked well.
Our story layout has been changed to be longer as with more paths to choose from, some characters may lead to different endings. Some heroes or villains may have intertwining stories or even lead to the next chapter. Some will die off as it progresses but others may use the players skills to reward them with a happy ending.

Finished picture of all paths and code put into my twine story.
