We first started to make test levels in order to see what fitted our groups ideas.

This last lesson of the term was to create a system that could make levels and a simple re-playable game. We had several different materials including Playdough, Lego bricks, bags of dice, paper and pens and board game pieces. Our table split up into two groups, one focussing on a dungeon card game and the group I was in carried out our idea for a brick-built (dice number controlled) adventure game. We continued to make objects and environments but over time we developed our rules and story to fit the lesson objective better.

I started to test my skills by making a car for the early concept of the game.

Harry and Alex are making some characters and the first level.

Our list of ideas and my finished car design.

Some items, potions and gems to collect made by Alex.

Harry is making some checkpoints/end of level flags and some new mountain terrain.

Some early Among Us characters which we later donated to other groups.

Next as a group we tried making separate level pieces which would all be able to connect with each other in different ways. The mountain, grass, beach, jungle and water areas could connect with each other so that the player can make their own levels.

Each major level route pathway.

With my new jungle gate, hub and temple, the map is finished.

A back view of the jungle level with a shot of a tree in the mountain area.

The hub/end point for the whole game/level creation maker. Brown crates are usable items.
