An example of two different outcomes of a feedback system.

My notes for this lesson, including a detailed examination of the game Papers Please.

In this lesson I learnt about the many different genres and ideas videogames include, these can include board games, video games, a pc games or playground games. During the lesson I took notes (see pic above) about one game "Papers Please", this particular game is made to look in an 8 bit style but excels even when the gameplay is limited. This popular game starts off with simple controls but slowly advances over time to give the player a busy workspace & more to remember.
By studying this visual narrative game, we are able to see how the game's levels get harder each time the player completes them, they get given extra abilities and duties/quests to complete. The player will develop fast reactions, learn from difficult situations. Dark colours help set the mood and the players emotions which encourages the player to keep playing and develop their experience of the game.

My example of a challenge based game is Friday Night Funkin.

My post on a creative skin making game: Minecraft.

My next task was to pick tow games that both have the same genre or trope in the gameplay, I out of difficulty picked Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Pokémon Arceus.

Animal Crossing New Horizons: Happy Home Maker

Pokémon Arceus

A summary of all students posts on Padlet and my post on the right hand side.

My post was read aloud in class but I guess my point and comparisons were overlooked. The reason i choose these two games specially, (Arceus can be compared as a normal Pokémon game) was because the player is given a set of tools, simple tutorials and an adventure. The player will make their own journey and discover secrets or even meet new characters. The fact that also the world is only explored by you and you will make your own adventure different from other players is the same too.
Although one game is a skill based fighting game and the other is a relaxing collecting game, I do see why people disagreed with my post. But now I have fully fleshed out my points about why the compassion makes sense, I hope others see my views too.
