A small diagram of the Tree of life and Bartle's Taxonomy.

This page is mainly about Taxonomy; the way our behavior impacts culture as well as what are the different types of people involved in that one society/group. Gaming is what we focused on the most and by using Bartle's Taxonomy we each made a "Tree of Life" diagram.

A large diagram of emotions and behavior created and used when playing any game.

This diagram above is what I created, a web of words and examples for different types of people in the gaming community. My tree has in-between lines and paths which lead to the main behaviors in gaming, some include "Creators, Farmers, Achievers, griefers, new players, friendly players, dominators and competitive players".
Other people without notepads used padlet, a online website in which you create you're own posts. Some people include gifs of examples of these players, while others stuck to stereotypes.

A small series of notes based upon games I have played and my opinion on them.

Also in this lesson we had a zoom call with Paul Dean who is still a games designer working on mobile, board games and retro video games. Whilst in his talk, I had created and wrote down several ideas for my games jam group work. Afterwards Paul talked about how even the simplest of games can have a perfect story, one being "Journey", a game where the player is shown the environment, the main character and the end goal. (all in one picture)
One of the more important things he said was to research marketing and advertising products, I who had already did a GCSE course in Media studies know some major stuff about these topics but I think by doing this course, I would understand a lot more with a better state of mind.

Two playground designs with labels and playful mechanics.

Our next class was about the ideas of playability and "play" in general, some people went home to watch a documentary on Netflix, where as I stayed to work with my game jam group. Our recent task was to create a playground for any age and write about it.
My designs above showcase 2 different designs, one on the left is a tent with holes for the light to pass through. The parent or child would press a triangle/square or circle button on the outside and then proceed inside the tent. When the button is pressed it shoots a disc to the top of the interior of the tent. This playground design would be called "The Kaleidoscope Kampus" (K instead of c in campus).
The discs will be the specific shape the person has chosen and once at the top of the tent, the light will shine through and create said shape on the floor inside. Anyone who enters can then pick as many shapes as they want and merge them together to create new shapes. E.g. Circle overlaps square, triangle then covers the square. Depending on the time of day create that amount of light or shadow of the hour. The discs can stack 3 times and then the machine will need to be reset. The discs can be put back above the shape picker and play can continue.

The other one on the right hand side is a tall tunnel structure which has tubes wide enough for any child or adult to pass through. The tube system has ladders on the outside and inside & a vertical/horizontal crawl space which loops back around the frame with a slide at the back at the end.  This playground design would be called the "Tactical Tunnel".
